Built 1908-1910 as "Kaiser-Franz-Josef I.-Jubiläumstheater" for the city of Klagenfurt by Ferdinand Fellner & Hermann Helmer. Opened 22 September 1910 with a prologue by Ernst von Rauscher and Friedrich Schiller's "Wilhelm Tell". 1996-1998 major renovation and extension by an administration building by Günther Domenig. Re-opened 25 Sep 1998 with Offenbach's "Les contes d'Hoffmann". 996 seats.
