Destroyed by a fire on 28 June 1918.] Current theatre built 1921-1923 by Fernando Navarro y Massenet and 1925-1928 Miguel Martín Fernández de la Torre. Interior decoration by Néstor Martín-Fernández de la Torre. Opened 28 May 1928. Named in honour of the Las Palmas-born author and playwright, Benito Pérez Galdós (1843-1920). 1989 restorations. 2004-2007 major restoration. |
