Built 1802 as "Kursaal" by Benjamin Carl Gottfried Geisler for the city of Bad Reinerz. 1882-1883 installation of a theatre stage. 1886 conversion to a permanent theatre, renamed "Kurtheater". Re-opened July 1886. After 1945, renamed in honor of the Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin (1810-1849).
