Built 1903-1904 as "Stadttheater" for the city of Thorn/Torun by Ferdinand Fellner & Hermann Helmer. Opened 1 October 1904 with O. Lindau's "Als die Preußen kamen" and Schiller's "Wallensteins Lager". Originally intended for German cultural propaganda and therefore only used for performances in German. 1906 renovation. Since 1918 used for Polish theatre performances. Renamed in honour of the Polish author and theatre director, Wilam Horzyca (1889-1959). 842 seats.
