Opened 10 Oct 1898 as "Salle des Mathurins". 1910-1911 named "Théâtre de Monsieur", 1911 renamed "Nouveaux-Mathurins", 1913 renamed "Théâtre Sacha-Guitry" (after the actor and director Sacha Guitry), 1920 again "Théâtre des Mathurins" (or simply "Les Mathurins"). 1921 rebuilding by Charles Siclis. Originally 500, later 700 seats; currently 386 seats. Notable world premieres:
