Built 1880 by Hermann von der Hude as winter garden for the guests of the Central-Hotel. Originally used for concerts and balls. From 1884, used as a theatre. From 1888, used as a variety theatre. Destroyed by bombs in January and March 1944.

[In 1992, a new "Wintergarten" variety theatre opened at another location in Potsdamer Straße 96.]
