Concert and multi-purpose hall, built 1870 by Joseph Engelskirchen. Named in honour of the Bonn-born composer, Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827); the second hall of that name in Bonn after a temporary wooden concert hall built and demolished in 1845. Used for concerts, theatre performances, sporting events, exhibitions and conventions. Destroyed by bombs on 18 Oct 1944. [Not rebuilt. A new Beethovenhalle was built at another location in the 1950s.]
