Opened 1 Oct 1908 with a gala performance of Schiller's "Wallensteins Lager" and a public performance of Lessing's "Minna von Barnhelm". 1910-1912 extension by a functional tract. 1982-1987 major exterior and interior restoration. 1992 renamed "Staatstheater". Ca. 680 seats. Used for opera and drama performances by the resident companies. |
