Built 1901 by Schmidt and Johlige. Severley damaged by bombs on 3/4 Sep 1943. Re-opened 1945 as municipal drama theatre after provisional repairs.

[1955-1956, the new "Schauspielhaus" was built on the site, incorporating the remains of the Central-Theater.]
