Built 1909 within seven months by Albert Eitel und Eugen Steigleder as a private theatre for Stuttgarter Theaterbau AG. Opened 6 Nov 1909 with Sophus Michaelis's drama "Die Revolutionshochzeit". Renovated in 1926 and, after bomb damages, in 1946. 1946-1962 used as interim playhouse by the Staatstheater Stuttgart company until the new Kleines Haus could be opened. Closed in 1962. Renovation 1982-1984. Currently used as a private theatre by "Altes Schauspielhaus und Komödie im Marquardt e. V."
