Built 1751 by Giovanni Gloria after plans by Antonio Cugini. Opened 1751 as "Teatro Nuovo e della Nobiltà". 1847 exterior rebuilding by Antonio Monte after plans by Giuseppe Jappelli. 1884 interior rebuilding by Achille Sfondrini. Re-opened 8 June 1884 as "Teatro Verdi", named in honour of the Italian opera composer, Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901). Currently used for drama performances by the "Teatro Stabile del Veneto" company. 700 seats.
