Built 1914 by Chadwick and Watson. 1986 major restoration, exterior rebuilding and extension, and incorporation of the neighbouring "Majestic" cinema as a second hall (up tp 400 seats) by RHWL (Christine Leyland and David Wright). Used for drama, opera, musical, and ballet performances by touring companies. 1464 seats.
