Country: England, United Kingdom City: London SW5 Location: Earl's Court Exhibition Centre Built 1912 by Edward Lutgers for the "Shakespeare's England" exhibition at Earl's Court, as a half-size replica of the "Globe Theatre" (1614). As one of the earliest attempts to reconstruct an Elizabethan theatre, the building was highly appraised at the time. It was, however, not big enough to be used as a venue for regular theatre performances. |
