Built by Bertie Crewe. Opened 20 Oct 1910 as "Empire Music Hall Theatre". Later known as "Empire Theatre". Auditorium damaged by fire in June 1919, subsequently repaired. 1930 redecoration. Closed 27 March 1955. Auditorium interior demolished when the building was converted into a supermarket. Later used as a a pub ("King's Tun"), then a church ("KingsGate Church").
