[First venue on the site built 1836 as "Turnham's Grand Concert Hall". 1863 rebuilt and renamed "Metropolitan Music Hall"].

Built 1897 by Frank Matcham. Opened 22 Dec 1897 as "Metropolitan Theatre of Varieties". Ca. 1700 seats (+ 294 standing). Interior decoration by James M. Boekbinder. Later renamed "Metropolitan Theatre" and "Metropolitan Music Hall". Demolished 1963 in favour of road widening (which never happened). Later, a police station was built on the site.
