London: Sam Wanamaker Playhouse

Country: England, United Kingdom
City: London
Borough: London Borough of Southwark
Location: New Globe Walk / Skinmarket Place

2014 reconstruction of a Jacobean indoor theatre, part of the Shakespeare's Globe complex. Named after the American actor and theatre director, Sam Wanamaker (1919-1993), founder of the Shakespeare Globe Trust. The theatre resembles an 17th-century theatre (such as the Blackfriars Theatre in London) and is loosely based on architectural drawings by Inigo Jones.
