Built 1909 as an entertainment complex with a theatre (2300 seats) and a ballroom. Named after the 1878 steel tower on the premises. From 1911 also used as a cinema. Steel tower demolished in 1914. 1949 rebuilding. Re-opened "Gaumont Morecambe." Closed 1959. Demolished 1961. [Subsequently a bowling alley was built on the site, later used as a cabaret and bingo hall.]
