Acoustic consultant: Yasuhisa Toyota/Nagata Acoustics. Named in honour of the American film producer and cartoon pioneer, Walt Disney (1901-1966). The "Walt Disney Concert Hall" complex includes a large concert hall (2265 seats), the "Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theatre" (266 seats), the open-air "W. M. Keck Foundation Children's Amphitheatre" (250-300 seats), and another open-air amphitheatre (120 seats). Opened 20 Oct 2003. Operated as part of the "Los Angeles Music Center". Home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Los Angeles Master Chorale. |
