"New National Theatre", built 1997 by Takahiko Yanagisawa. Opened October 1997. Used for opera and ballet performances by the resident companies.

The complex contains three theatre halls:

• Opera House (1814 seats), also known as "Opera Palace Tokyo"
• Playhouse (1038 seats)
• The Pit (up to 468 seats)
