Built 1856. Opened 25 Aug 1856 with Verdi's "Ernani". Named in honour of the Spanish explorer, Juan Díaz de Solís (ca.1470-1516). 1998-2004 major renovation. 1500 seats. Home to the "Comedia Nacional" company.
