Built 1985. Donated to the city of Montgomery by Wynton M. Blount (hence also known as "Carolyn Blount Theater" in honour of his wife). Named in honour of the English playwright, poet, and actor, William Shakespeare (ca.1564-1616). The complex contains two theatres (750 and 250 seats). Home to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Used for drama performances and classical concerts.
