Built 1871-1872 for Antonio Pestalardo. Opened 1872 with Verdi's "Il Trovatore". Used for regular opera seasons. Later mainly used for lighter musical theatre. Demolished in 1935.

[Currently, the site is occupied by the 2nd "Teatro Opera", built in the 1930s by Alberto Bourdon.]
